People here seem to address things unsaid quite often- see the wild rants in the pages before.

As for your comment, I don't think its that simplistic in labeling one group of people as being one thing and another in the same brush stroke.

i haven't labeled anyone anything. i made an observation on what i have read in this thread. labeling people due to their position on a certain topic seems...well a little bigoted. wouldn't you agree?

I (L) gays. I don't (L) god.

eta: I don't have kids but if I wanted them to learn about god I would send them to a catholic school :)

i don't have issue w/ anyone. but, as for the second part of your post...that'd be your choice & not the schools right?

You are promoting homosexuality on this thread, whether you know it or not. It would be best if you know what you're doing.

Should I go into a rant now as you did when you were somehow associating people that weren't accusing you of promoting rapists as doing so? Remember that? Now you're doing it again in another topic...

There is no evidence in this thread or anywhere on this site that I promote homosexuality. Knowing it or not is up to you to prove, as it indicates a level of clairvoyance that at this stage of human perception is a bit improbable. Because the burden of proof rests solely on you, it is 100% probably you will not prove as such.

It seems you may be having, inadvertently or purposely, a problem with semantics. Promotion and tolerance, even in the context of the anti-discrimination law you still have not addressed, are not equivalent terms.

I am not accusing you of labeling anyone here. But I am puzzled by your observation.

The law as written is fairly easy to read. :D

It's demonstrably intolerant :bonk:

Sure. An intolerance of bigots is a great thing for society. I know bigots like to cowardly hide behind the same kind of legal principles granting them the right to speak their mind, and that is a wonderful thing. It makes spotting the bigots that much easier when they freely admit to their obviously intolerant and demonstrably discriminatory behavior towards various segments of the population defined by more than just 'thinking skills.'

sheesh 3rd time. i'm not talking about any law. the observation...the same people we see here on VJ adamantly opposed to religion in school are the same people promoting this class on the contributions of homosexuals to society. thats it nothing more.

Care to name names?

I don't think I have stated any opposition to the inclusion of theology in a school curriculum. Many state standards already provide for religion classes, and I can only speak for myself when I say that's perfectly OK. History classes already provide for the study of religious contributions to history- from a historical perspective too. I don't see, seriously, anyone saying the contrary.

How do you feel about the law though? Asking since we get angry rants about homosexuals and their freakness and how this law is shoving it into kids, but when pressed to address where in the law it states thats its a pro-gay thing, they pretty much ignore reality on the issue they're b!tching about.

If that isn't freaky, I don't know what is.

It would be my choice, but I think there's a difference between teaching kids about god and teaching kids about homosexuals. What about black history month? Should we not teach about blacks because they're "different" than us? They're not different, they're all people just like we are. Kids should learn about different cultures, different types of people, etc. If we keep them sheltered it's possible they will grow up and be scared of something that is "different" or they don't understand.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You are free to "go into" a rant any time you please, you certainly don't need my permission. But it's too late for you to "go into" a rant now, as you started a while back. Using your criteria, it doesn't take much besides disagreeing with you to qualify as ranting.

There is no evidence in this thread or anywhere on this site that I promote homosexuality. Knowing it or not is up to you to prove, as it indicates a level of clairvoyance that at this stage of human perception is a bit improbable. You have been defending homosexuality as worthy of being taught to school children and fighting anyone who disagrees with you in the name of "tolerance". I'd call that promotion of the gay cause, but, hey, I'm crazy that way.

It seems you may be having, inadvertently or purposely, a problem with semantics. Promotion and tolerance, even in the context of the anti-discrimination law you still have not addressed, are not equivalent terms.

They are not equivalent terms, and I have not equated them. Your actions here, insisting that anyone who is anti-gay history or anti-gay is intolerant and your belief that both are to be accepted without question or resistant is the evidence upon which I have concluded your advocacy of both.

It's quite a reasonable conclusion, and you will continue to prove me right, thank you.

Race Amby, not some sick and demented lifestyle. Although I'm not big on race history, I would have to be mentally retarded to not know the difference between race, and some dude who wants to be a chick getting buggered.

Apples and Oranges.

You're a bigot. That you're pro-gay and insisting that everyone be like you doesn't make your bigotry superior to those who are anti-gay.

Being born black and being a guy dressing like a chick and getting humped by another guy isn't the same is it? I'm going to take a wild guess here and say there's a difference.
