That may be the issue. They do withdraw the funds electronically, but they also send a photo copy of the check to your bank for verification. I imagine it could cause problems if they withdrew $340 and sent a copy of a check for $350. Either way, I imagine you should get something by the end of the week.

Okay, thank you, I will keep an eye out, but if the embassy said $350 maybe I shouldn't be too worried about that being the problem. thank you again for the help!! :)

The fee is $340, not $350. Maybe you looked at the visa fee at the embassy, but what you are doing now is actually filing a petition, not a visa. Your whole package will be rejected and sent back to you. Hopefully only a month will be wasted. Read the instructions for the forms themselves at uscis.gov. Sorry.

The fee is $340, not $350. I think that's the problem. Your petition will be rejected and they may be mailing it back to you, asking for the correct amount. Do not follow the embassy's instructions. Go to the USCIS website and follow those. Visit the k-1 guidelines here and cross check everything.

Good luck!

Everything takes time and everyone is different. My wife and her friend were both in the same timeline starting out with the 129. One step took us only a few weeks, but it took them a few months. Another step took them a few months and us almost one year. Hopefully you will be together for many many years, so don't get upset over timelines here and there. Often times the NVC will concentrate on one type of visa to the exclusions of others and then vice versa. Sometimes the timing can be an issue ( more visa applications during the summer vs winter as an example). All sorts of stuff. Just relax. They will notify you when you least expect it.A few extra weeks or even a few months here and there mean nothing compared to a life time together.

It's a good idea to send things certified mail with return receipt to make sure it doesn't get lost in the mail

Yeah I did, and it did notify me that they recieved it buuuttttt....still nothing.

P.S.

Should I call about it to see if that is possibly the problem?! So hopefully that way NO (more) time is wasted.

Did you receive a NOA1? So, you don't have a case number, I guess. I'd call and ask if sending $350. would be cause of rejection.

Your package will be rejected. Overpaying is cause for rejection. Case closed. Wait for the package to be sent back to you and resend with correct payment.

My check was cashed in about a week. 4 days later got the email notification, 3 days after that got the hard copy Noa1 in the mail. personally I think i'd call if you dont see your check cashed in 2 weeks, and I wouldn't go more than a month waiting on Noa1. Besides...It's only a phone call. Jim.

Fede&Kendra--Hi, I am the USC petitioner (RK). From my own experience, hope I can add to the assurances that all should turn out OK for you. Notice the timeline below my signature. I, too, like you did not initially send in a GS-1145 plus I made error on the check. As you can see, weeks later I did get a response. I corrected check, used GS-1145 this time, (re)sent package using delivery confirmation. Heard back in a few days this time. All has turned out OK so far. Just waiting now. Yes, the waiting seems like forever. I empathize. Here is wishing you may find some answers and comfort here in the experiences of others and here is wishing you continuing success on your own Visa Journey. --RK
