McDonalds To Add Apples To Every Happy Meal

If we focus on educating people on making wise choices, we are sure to see a vocal crowd protesting vociferously about the taking away of liberties and all that retarded paranoia.

Indeed there are better options. Pound for pound, that same amount of burger will cost you less if made at home, with less fat, fillers, and goodness knows what else. But even with nutrition on your side, it will be questioned as invalid by the same people willing to condemn the same market forces they support in the practice of selling food in the USA.

Yes let's focus on educating people that McDonalds food makes people fat and unhealthy because it's not like it's all over the media and seeing how we are all a bunch of morons we could use more education like that. Like putting labels on cigarettes. I mean who knew that they were bad for you?

Ya, when I go to McDonalds its for the health benefit, not the fact that I actually want to eat a Big Mac and fries chased down with a coke. Maybe the government should ban fast food...you know do the thinking for people seeing how people need to be controlled like robots for the fact they are too stupid to make their own decisions. Let's use tax dollars for this massive education program. [sarcasm/]

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Welcome to parenting.

If parents would let their kids sit in front of the TV all day, then perhaps there wouldn't be an issue.

Of course, when I was a kid, we still had the word "NO" around. That seems to have left society nowadays when parents would rather be their child's best friend than an actual parent.

No it hasn't Paul.

Saying that fast food marketing is pervasive and deliberately targeted towards kids is about more than kids sitting in front of the tv all day.

Ronald McDonald has been around for years and then some. So are you saying they should do away with him, happy meals, and the play land? Seriously a bunch of bs. This is America not some commie bs country. Ya, let the gayzors get married, force kids in Cali to have that weirdo ####### shoved down their throat, give illegals everything but a ticket here, yet do away with McDonalds and everything it stands for eh? Maybe in Commie land Europe, but not here. This is why so many Americans are fed up with the lib bs and it being forced on us. It's time for a major shake up.

People know that McDonalds is not good for them. Lack of education is not the problem.

Can you specify how McDonalds is not good for you? I know what you are trying to say- but be specific when addressing how a company is not good for its customers.

Yes, Ya,...

I don't think I am calling for anything now am I?

But I appreciate your assessment of the connection between fat-inducing foods and obesity. And yes, while many people are indeed that stupid that they need reminders about things (usually comes from paying more attention to other things), I think its amazing how some people will whine all day long about people making retarded decisions over and over and over again, yet deny themselves the opportunity to share their knowledge of exactly how detrimental those choices really are. And when companies such as McDonalds sees profit in responding to its customers, they have an even bigger hissy fit. What's with that bit of psychosis?

Regardless of what's marketed to kids, parents are the ones who decide what kids eat since kids don't have full-time jobs or the other means to secure their own food.

If they did, we could have a half-way intelligent conversation about the semantics of marketing to children. Until that time, we ought to be talking about how horrible some parents are.

Pervasive is the key word there - meaning, all-encompassing and inescapable. Associating their foods with every major motion picture that comes along. It is a problem, whether you want to recognise it or not. My view is that McDonalds and places like it are popular because of aggressive marketing and not because the food actually tastes good.

Regardless parents who allow their kids to eat at McDonalds on a daily basis clearly aren't taking their children's health and nutrition seriously. That said, parents who take their kids to McD's occasionally or for their kids' friends birthday parties have a right to be concerned about what the foods on offer contain and how they are made.
