Hi,

My husband is filing for my son and I wanted to know what the process entails. I have been reading alot but havent found any forum which addresses this topic really. We received the recepit from USCIS and signed up for status updates as you can see I been through the porcess just recently.

My son is 12 soon to be 13 yrs old and I wanted to know what to expect and if anyone has an idea of the timeframe that we are looking at.

Thanks

Overall statistics for VJ members who bother to post their timelines is here:

Average time until approval of the petition is currently 135 days. Average time between approval of the petition and the interview in Jamaica is 172 days. The total average is 307 days, or a little over 10 months. Note that this is from the CR1 chart, as there is no separate statistical chart for CR2's, but I presume the processing times are approximately the same.

Also please be sure to read through recent posts from Jamaica and discuss with your child the VERY serious ramifications of illegal substances - No age is to young to have that hammered into their head.
