Yay! My parents' visas were approved today! And I didn't even have my own interview yet!

My fiancé sent the invitations for them, saying how important it is for us to have them over for the wedding and I filled out the forms for them. The CO asked about my age and my fiance's age, asked whether my parents have more kids (and I have a brother) and then he asked a couple of questions about my brother and that's it! Didn't even look at any of the paperwork proving their ties to Russia :)

Feb. 14, 2011 received hard copy of NOA for AOS, EAD& AP

Feb. 18, 2011 received appt letter for biometrics

Feb. 28, 2011 biometrics appt @10am

Feb. 28, 2011 received txt/email AOS case transferred to csc

Mar 1, 2011 AOS Touched

Mar 3, 2011 received hard copy of AOS transfer to csc

Mar 4, 2011 AOS Touched

Mar 28, 2011 Received txt/email saying card production has been ordered. (1month 3eeks 3days)

That is just wonderful news.......you'll do the same for your interview I am sure.

And, I can't wait to tell my Alla......need to determine if her parents may want to visit also.

I've seen this before. Sometimes the embassy staff can be remarkably kind and very family oriented. I have a friend whose in-laws from Ukraine were approved for a visitor visa before his fiancee's was even approved. So, now you need to get working on the wedding plans so that everything will go smoothly within your 90 day period. Congratulations. It looks like you will have a very happy wedding. :dance:

Congrats! I never would have thought visitor visas were doable, but seems like some folks are having success these days! We ended up doing ours the hard way...just fired off the I-130 for my MIL's immigrant visa.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

Good news. We are going to try and have Sergey's girlfriend visit during the winter break from school this year. We are hoping her proof of having a paid scholarship will be enough to convince them she will return.

I haven't heard this.. Parents got approved for B2s ahead of the K-1 visa interview. Awesome! Glad for you! Times are changing.

Seems to me you're almost done. Just need to show up and re-do your bio digital 'identifiers' for US-VISIT. Have a wonderful fingerscans tomorrow!
