Ziiiiiing. I haven't watched the video, but I know it takes a real chopfcuk to laugh at animals in pain...

You hadn't watch the video? Before you get your panties in a twist after viewing the video, you will find that I am laughing at the video BEFORE the cat proved it wasn't smart enough to withstand centrifugal force. When you see it, there is nothing to laugh after it made it's way to the wall. There was no pain involved up to that point. Not enough of the video after that to promote more laughter. Watch it first, then leave opinion. Maybe you should give the privilege of your opinion to the owner of the cat who decided to post the video for the whole world to watch.

I would never pick on the burro. In Columbia, every day my friend, Juan Valdez, picks coffee beans by hand. He uses his burro to carry those bags down the mountain for people who love fresh Columbian coffee. Without his burro, he couldn't keep up the demand of the coffee drinkers all over the world!

Speaking as a dog person, I had a lil Westie for 12.5 years that was absolutely brilliant. Very smart, very loyal...all the perfect qualities a dog can possess. He actually even wound up acting out for attn....years ago, he developed this limp & would howl and cry and drag his leg. Naturally, we were all v concerned, and after a battery of tests...all negative...we actually had to speak to a 'dog psychiatrist' who asked us to keep a journal of what would be going on when it would happen. We then found out it only happened when my boyfriend was over the house...and it turned out my bf was pretty much the only person who would come into the house and be very unattentive to my dog.

Lol, what a trick! Once the bf and I broke up, my iccle Princie never did it again.

That being said, now that I have a cat, I can see she's really smart too...just in different ways. Sometimes she's aloof and not as lovable. But we're growing together & I've actually taught her some 'doggie' tricks. She gives the paw, rolls over, and meows on command. I can take her brush out and stand in her 'spot' and she'll come to get brushed (but she loves that so it's hardly a big feat). And I can say 'go to your house' and she'll go to the lil hut I made for her outside...

But she's also trained me as well. She can be quite stubborn & sometimes I find myself yielding to her!

So all in all, I think both species are equally intelligent...and this study is a bunch of bullsh!t.

F**king great! How would one base that act on a scale of intelligence to a dog now? Was the cut stupid enough to claw at something attached to the fan? Or was it completely stupid enough just to hold on for the ride? A dog certainly would've let go! I think that declares the intelligence between dog and cat!

I knew what I posted would offend someone. Somebody always has to find something offensive. I don't live life to please everyone and I sure as hell do not buy into being "politically correct". 100% of the human race will never be happy with one thing. Now that I think of it, I'm offended that you find such distaste in what was obviously hilarious to the majority that found it funny!

The next time one of those cats decide to run under the wheels of my car for whatever reason it decides to commit hari kari, I'll be sure to be thinking of cats all over the world!

I really dont see how you can compare two different species. their intelligence is relative to their survival and drives.

I had a cat from ( my) age 5 - 24 and she was cool but Im a dog person. I really think my Lab is exceptionally smart. When I ask him to bring me some shoes, he generally brings the correct pair for the time of day. When I lived in Asia, the only time I would wear socks is with trainers. Sure enough when he saw me pull out socks he'd go and grab my gym shoes! Another time I had a guest who I wanted to leave. I told him I was really tired and had to call it a night. Be damned if the dog didn't go and grab HIS shoes and dump them at his feet! I have tons of these stories..all I remember about my cat is that she hated me to read and would always sit on my reading material. Or she had a paper fetish...

One of our cats does that. He'll nestle up beside me and then lay his paw over the page I'm reading.

Actually, most cats DO have a paper fetish too. First of all, they like the noise it makes, secondly they feel heat through their paws. Newspaper (and paper in general) is a good retainer of heat and we all know how much cats love warmth....(one of mine lays on the heat register!)

Put some paper on the floor as see how long it takes your cats to lay on it or play with it.

Did I say I was offended? I said I hadn't watched it, which was a way of saying "I can't comment on the actual video." I chose not to watch it because it upset another animal lover. I didn't want to be upset.

I think idiots comment on what they don't have experience with. Conservatives and liberals and anyone inbetween can be an idiot. I've certainly seen several here comment on several things "they" know little about (climate change, anyone?) and "they" seem pretty satisfied to remain relatively uninformed.
