Dogs are loyal too. A cat would eat your liver if you died in your sleep.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

of course dogs are smarter than cats, more loyal, but needier as well.

I couldn't leave a dog home for the weekend.

My cat is basically happy if I come home once a day to feed him the rest of the time he could care less, although when Anton is home the cat is majorly jealous and is all over me or on him and won't let us alone.

7-3-06 GREEN CARD ARRIVES IN MAIL!!!! Done for two years!!!!!!

I am here to help, even if it's just to offer my shoulder to cry or vent on... We are all in this together.!

My answers are based on personal experience, not fact.

We are on this rollercoaster ride together holding on for dear life.

well, my neighbour's dog is supposedly trained but can't learn not to go to the bathroom on the rug so has to live most of her life outside; my cats, however, never make that mistake - and in fact, have ME very well trained. My vote is for the cats being more intelligent than dogs - from personal experience. Maybe the cats didn't see the point in their tests so ddin't bother 'to play'. Case in point - I had a cousin (now deceased) who failed every single question on the IQ test - the experts' interpretation - that she was a genius and deliberately not co-operating. (Unfortunately, that is also how she approached life - and suffered an early death.)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

well being an owner of one of each, i would say the dog is smarter. if u tell her to go get a certain toy like "go get tiger, or go get squecky..etc she brings the right toy every time. if u call her jasmine, jaz, jazzy she will come to all of them and if u call her another name she dont come. the cat dont even come when she hears her name and well forget about telling her to bring a toy.

so my opinion is dogs are smarter.

I wouldn't say dogs are smarter but more obedient. Unless your cat doesn't even respond to it's name (look at you like "What the #### do you want"?!)

Sometimes I can almost hear my cat telling me "That's my name, don't wear it out!" :hehe:

Cats are definitely smarter, they've managed to finagle making humans their slaves. Dogs on the other hand are still subservient, so obviously less evolved and they slobber ;)

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

We adopt dogs into our homes, we feed them, we care for them, we look after them, we meet their every needs. They look at us and think "Wow,You must be GODS".
