This question has bothering me since last week, I have my SSN already and it says there that I need DHS authorization to be able to work. I already have biometrics scheduled in August but I have an appointment with a recruiter and I'm not really sure how to explain that I don't have an EAD yet. She asked if I would need a sponsor but told her that I have everything filed and we are just waiting for my EAD. Now if this would turn into a job interview with a prospective company, should I tell them that I don't have EAD yet?

I know the answer to my question is right in front of me already (by just looking at my SS card) but I'd like to know if there's anyone who has a similar experience or know someone who went thru the same thing. Thanks!

Yes admit you are currently unable to work. Admit that you don't know when you're able to work so you don't know when you can start. Ask them whether they're willing to wait. They might no be which is why I stopped applying for work until I was able to work. No point in applying for jobs I REALLY want when I can't get them :) As it turned out the job I have now is fabulous so definitely worth the wait :)

Thanks! I am just so eager to get work but I guess I'll just enjoy my vacation until I get an EAD or maybe go back to school.
