Hey there everyone, this is my first time on here and I have a problem and I am worried sick!! Today I had my medical for my K1 visa in London and I thought all went well. On the form I disclosed that I had mild depression in '05 and was treated with medication which I only took for 2mths and I managed to sort myself out and haven't had any problems since. The doctor at the medical said this was fine and I just needed a letter from my doctor saying I was fine now and it would be alright.................So here is the problem,I went to my doctors and he went back through my notes and said that it had been '05 but also '08 briefly too, also when I was 18 I had OCD. I genuinely had forgotten about this episode from my past!!!! I am so worried that this is going to ruin everything. If I had remembered it I would of put it all on the forms!! It all feels sooooooo long ago and it wasn't exactly bad. I have NEVER self harmed or harmed anyone else. These are brief passing problems I've had in the past and coped with fine. I am just frantic that they will think I've deliberately kept stuff from them BUT I haven't done it consciously!!

Please can someone let me know if this is going to be alright. Or what I should do?? I was thinking of putting a note to accompany my doctors note saying that I hadn't remembered my previous problems because they were so long ago??

I appreciate anyone's input xx

Maybe you're over-thinking it. Is this really all they asked for?

....I just needed a letter from my doctor saying I was fine now and it would be alright.................

Get a letter from your doctor saying "Miss Smith does not suffer from depression and is not a threat to herself or others."

I had the same thing.

My doctor wrote a letter saying they (4 bouts over a 5 year period) were situational and I was not a danger to myself or anyone else. It's a procedure that you have to go through. Don't worry about it, I'm sure it'll be fine. :)

EDIT: I also asked my doctor for a copy of her letter, so I can keep it with the rest of my paperwork for future reference.

Thankyou :) I'm really trying not to worry, its just so stressful :) The Drs letter will be ready for me to pick up tomorrow ready to fax and having 2 vaccines that I haven't had from the nurse. It worries me more because I hadn't said about the OCD at the actual medical to the Dr just the depression and they might think I deliberatly didn't mention it!! I really hope its ok..

I doubt they go back and review your checklist. They just need word from your doctor to clear you and send you on your way. If you think the letter sounds incriminating, ask them for another that clearly states you are fine now, explaining if the letter isn't favorable it will delay your US entry.

Got the letter from my Dr yesterday and the letter was actually really nice. He mentioned that I hadn't suffered from any issues since 2008 and that I'd never self harmed or wanted to harm others. I sent it off today so I hope its ok....
