Knowing that an InfoPass appointment takes a while to get, I was going to try to schedule one for next week (with the intention to cancel if we receive some news before then); however, I saw this on the InfoPASS website:

Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

What is NCSC? Does this mean the USCIS Customer Service 800# (and that we'll have to wait another 45-days beyond the 4 months before we can speak to someone in person?)

The InfoPASS site also states that it can only handle inquiries for cases being handled at that office. How do we know who actually has our case if we haven't heard anything since NOA1? The lastest news we have is that it's at the National Benefits Center in Missouri...

You HAVE heard something since your NOA1. You got biometric appointment, and EAD/AP approval. Have you looked at the listed processing times for your local office? There is probably just a back-up. Or, you got transferred to CSC and are waiting in line. To make INFOPASS, you can just select "other" to get the appointment. Have you tried getting a Tier 2 officer on the line to tell you where your file is?

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

I was specifically talking GC-related. (Honestly, I'll have to look again at her bio appointment letter to see if it referenced both the I-485 and I-765 cases.) Our local office claims to be processing within the 4-month window (as of July 20). My wife spoke with USCIS last week. I told her to specifically ask for a Tier 2 officer but I never asked her if that's who she spoke with.

They told her that they couldn't initiate a service request yet because it was still a bit short of the 4-months but that is was very strange that we had not heard anything about an interview yet especially given that our local office isn't running behind and that they were going to place a note in the file to look into that. I believe she was given a reference number of some sort... If it was, in fact, a Tier 2 officer, the statement that it's "very strange" that we have no interview appointment yet has me concerned that the case has been lost in transit somewhere or been forgotten at either the NBC or the local office. If it was made by a Tier 1 agent, it was probably just a meaningless comment...

We were never notified of any transfer to CSC although I know the website/text system doesn't always work, so it's always possible that it's sitting out there, too.
