78 degrees and sunny yesterday after a light rain the night before. I spent the day wading in the Mad River with Sergey catching trout. Beautiful area, crystal clear water. We hit several places along the river. Fish for a while, take a dip in the natural pools, drive on down the road and find another picturesque place to fish. Caught a few trout but mostly they just interrupt the pleasure.

we had a scare earlier this week that there may have been a random homicide in Vermont. First since 2006. Had everyone worried and probably more than the usual packing guns, but turns to have been a domestic dispute.

It is terrible when someone likes where they live isn't it?

The President sounded a bit more persuasive- definitely to the Independents. Boehner's "That is just not going to happen" comment reinforced the President's assertion that they are uncompromising.

maybe i've heard it too many times from obama. i just don't buy anything he says anymore. he is our leader he needs to lead not divide. within the first minute of his speech..we blame bush some more.. tax cuts, 2 wars, percription drug plan...yadda yadda. he knew it before he ran for office, he has had it for 2 years..he owns it now.

then when he went into scare mode w/ the 'republican's' medicare cuts...OMG STFU! his healthcare bill take $500 billion out of medicare.

The one on the right is more fair based on percentage of income. Why would someone making around $250,000 get the same tax break (or, within a few bucks) as someone making over $1,000,000? That's not fair at all!

The one on the left basically stops after $250,000. That's #######!

We don't live all over the world. We live in the USA. We're supposed to have a simple tax system for our federal government, not some 20,000+ pages of code that disproportionally penalizes those who achieve and rewards those who do next to nothing with their lives.

I refuse to call any politician a leader. They're not leaders. They're elected officials. It sickens me that we're so stupid to elect them. HOPEfully we can CHANGE that in the future and get back to the system we were intended to have.
