What happens if we don't make it to interview?

We were given less than 2 weeks notification to be at Naples, Italy for interview on August 2nd 2011, but because my wife has to get visa for Italy there isn't enough time. I emailed Naples consulate office, but got out of office reply saying they don't handle interview schedule and we have to call visa information center. Each call cost 15 euros and they only accept visa or mastercard.

I won't be back in US until Aug 3rd so that I can buy a visa card for this reason, I don't have visa or mastercard and we can't buy one here in Iran.

So, we will miss the appointment and we're worried what will happen now. It's very difficult dealing with this from Iran ( I'm here visiting my wife for 2 weeks) so, I hope this doesn't cause a problem. If they could just give us at least 3 weeks notice to get travel arrangements done we wouldn't have so much problems.

Has anyone missed their interview date and was able to reschedule ok?

Can you have someone overnight you a card so you can call? or have them purchase a calling card for you so you can call and just give you the numbers so you can access the card and make the call? You can't just not show up... you have got to get in touch with them.

04/18/2013 USCIS received case for review

08/19/2013 Received NOIR to respond by 9/18/2013

9/9/2013 Responded to NOIR/USCIS received documents awaiting response

9/20/2013 USCIS reaffirmed sent to embassy

1/04/14 Case opened for review

8/31/15 Interview- no questions visa approved on the spot

9/8/15 visa status issued

9/10/15 visa received

9/19/15 POE Charlotte

Email them? Have a family member in the USA who has a visa contact them?

Or contact your Senator and members of Congress and ask them to contact Naples.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

cancel your previous appointment and then make another appointment by visiting the Embassy’s Visa Information and Appointment Service website or by calling them. You have one year after notification of the visa interview appointment schedule from the NVC to pursue a visa or the visa application and any approved visa petition for the applicant will be cancelled.

12/06/2011-Sputum Smears-all negative!Thanks God!

12/12/2011-Interview date-VISA approved!

12/24/2011-Visa on hand

12/28/2011-Arrived in the USA,POE Detroit
