Hey everyone, my sister is in the process of filling out her paperwork to bring her husband, who she married just recently. She has a marriage certificate and all that but for the required evidence shes not sure what to get since she lives here and he's in Pakistan. She is pregnant at the moment with his baby, but I'm guessing that doesnt count yet. So what can she provide as evidence besides whats listed in the CR-1 guide since she doesnt have any of those?

Thanks

How do they keep in contact? e-mail? phone records? skype records?

what about pictures? from their engagement? wedding? with family?

Her passport...How many times has she visited? The stamps on her passport could also be used as proof of how many times she has gone and visited him.

If they just got married and she's starting the process, it may very well be that her baby will be born before her husband gets here, and if that is so than she can use that as evidence as well. (I hope this is not the case)

Do they have any joint accounts?

Let's hope someone else can brainstorm with you and give more ideas for your sister.

A few ideas that come to mind: photocopies of the travel visas in her passport (when she visted him), the flight itinaries of when she visited him, boarding passes, sworn affidavits from people who can attest to the veracity of the relationship, her cell phone bill with their conversations highlighted, text messages they've sent each other, emails they've exchanged, love letters, transcripts of Skype conversations, if possible, she can add him as the main beneficiary of her health/life insurane, greeting cards sent to both of them (congratualtions on weddings type of cards), pictures of the 2 of them, preferably with other people in the pictures to show they are known in their social circle and to their family as a couple (write the date and place of the pictures). On all the photocopies of the evidence sent, I'd write a little description of what it is and how it relates to the maraige being bona fide. If it is possible, adding him as the main benefiaciary to her life insurance can help.

These are just a few points. I hope this helps and if I think of more, I will certainly add to this thread. I'm sure others who have gone through a similar situation will chip in.

Good luck, wishing you the best!:star:
