Hi I have a rather similar situation to Tim/Mav concerning being 'unemployed'.

I was a teacher for the past four years and made enough to cover a family of four, which is what we will be. (I made $30,600 per year)

However, my job ended at the end of this past school year.

I am currently waiting for unemployment to kick in - if it will, it will be $384/week = $6604 for the semester.

I am teaching a course through NC Virtual High School this fall which will be $6120 for the semester. I will probably be teaching two courses next semester -starting in January - which would be $15,300, and I would continue to teach the next summer at probably about $2500. However, this is not really a year contract, but is based on semester enrollment.

The total would be over the 125% I would need to sponsor, however this is future projections.

My NOA2 states an expiration 11/8/2011 - I am not sure what this means exactly. However, what I am wondering is if I would qualify as the sole sponsor. I really don't think I can get a co-sponsor.

What should I do about the fact that the petition is being sent to Casablanca currently?

I appreciate any constructive help.

What would I need to show them as proof? Should I email them to postpone the expiration date? I am not sure how that works at Casablanca.

Seems you can delay the process. By just staying in touch with the Embassey.
