When i went to get the biometrics done back in April for both I-485 and I-765, they only took one print (index finger) and a photo, nothing else. I had received only one biometrics letter for both applications. It seemed quite strange, so naturally i asked the person who fingerprinted me whether this is a mistake and that they should take all 10 fingerprints, and he replied " NO, this is all we need".

Is this normal and has anyone been through the same thing?

On your biometrics notice there should be a code, 1 2 or 3. I'm not sure what the #'s mean, but it might've been coded wrong for your letter. I had a code 3, all 10 prints.

Did your biometics letter have 2 barcodes on it? The single fingerprint/photo is usually the biometrics for just the EAD.

In answer to your question: No it does not sound normal, at least, it was not what happened at my biometrics.

My wife’s biometric was for all 10 fingers and pictures. We applied for AOS not EAD or AP. Being fingerprint on one finger only sounds strange.

Yes I agree. I had all 10 done- it took forever for him to get them all 'perfect'!

The "one finger" biometrics is the EAD biometrics.

I just got my biometrics done on Saturday and I remembered your post so I was watching what they were doing with the people in front of me ... And I am pretty sure everyone they fingerprinted, they did all 10 fingers (me included) ...

The Bio appointment letter listed both reciept numbers for AOS and EAD. The code was 2, and as I mentioned before i specifically asked the person who signed off on the letter and stamped it about this and he said its all they needed. Sounds like its time to make an infopass appointment to get to the bottom of this. On the other hand, we already had our AOS interview back in June and the officer did not mention anything about the finger printing. As of now, we are pending the FBI name check.
