My fiancé is a New Zealand citizen. In addition to his New Zealand passport he has a British passport (his dad is Scottish so he gets the British passport under his dad). He has been living in London for about 4 years now. We have filled out our fiancé packet and we are almost ready to send it in. My question is, has anyone else ever filed under these type circumstances ie filing as a New Zealand citizen in a UK based US embassy? My local immigration office said it won't be a problem as it is the US Embassy that is important, not where he is at the time of filing. She didn't really answer with enough confidence to reassure us. Any info would be appreciated.

I was born in Switzerland and lived there as a child, but as an adult moved to Ireland and eventually became a dual citizen. I applied for and received my IR-1 spousal visa at the US embassy in Dublin, the issue of dual citizenship didn't come up at all, other than my visa stating I am a Swiss citizen but being in my Irish passport, and needing a Swiss police cert. Your fiance will be fine.

Ben's a UK/SA citizen and is a PR in New Zealand and we will be going through the Embassy in Auckland. Shouldn't be a problem - no worries. :)
