Hello everyone! Our address changed between completing the K-1 application and the upcoming AOS application. Do we need to submit a change-of-address form to USCIS, or can we just put our new address on the AOS application since it's a new application process? Thanks for any guidance!

You will need to put your new address n the AOS and also the beneficiary fills out an IR-11 and the petitioner a I-865 both forms are sent to different addresses

AR-11 (not IR-11) and beneficiary is "applicant" and petitioner is "sponsor" once you're in the AOS stage.. but otherwise agree :)

Does the I-865 really need to be completed? I mean, until the I-864 is filed with the AOS packet there is no official sponsor, as such.

Having said that, when it comes to address changes, the more notifications the better.

Yes it does as the petitioner is the sponsor who brought you to USA so I-865 has to be filled in by them as well.

Oh god I meant AR-11 lol must have not taken my meds

You guys are missing the point. The OP has not filled out a I-864 yet. He is not a sponsor, but a petitioner at this time. The instructions here state that I-865 is for people who, any time in the past, have filed a I-864. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-865.pdf The OP has not yet.

The instructions for AR-11 here state that any alien in the US should fill out AR-11 if they change their address. On the page for the online form itself, it clarifies that aliens who have been here more than 29 days should file AR-11. http://www.uscis.gov/ar-11
