What exactly is needed for the 10 year residency?

I am assuming name, address, years lived there, people living there. Is there anything else that is needed?

For our blue slip, they request for address, full name, birth date, family members if living together, home phone number, cell phone numbers. We did not need to include utility bills or any related documents. I assume there are other blue slips that request that information.

Hi Visa journey, my wife is currently waiting for an interview date. I used an agency to help me file the CR-1 petition process. I have notice that HCMC consulate nowadays request a 10 year residency from the petitioner and list of relatives currently residing in the US. I ask my agent about the 10 residency and list of relatives and she said that "do not provide anything unless they ask for it". I am going back to VN to go with my wife for the interview and I just want to prepare all or most of what is needed by the consulate. So is my agent right or should I prepare the 10 year residency & list of relatives and have it notarized before I go to VN and bring it to the interview??? Thanks everyone for your help, god bless.

Hello,

Is the 10-year residency history request for the petitioner? Or the beneficiary? Or both?

And is the list of relatives in the US for the petitioner? Or the beneficiary? Or both?

Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks.

The 10 year residency information can be for either the petitioner or beneficiary or both. This document is typically requested on a blue slip. The CO decides if they want it for either or both you and your fiance. The best advice would be to prepare this before the interview and have it ready just in case the CO asks for it.

The list of relatives is a document that has to be prepared by the petitioner. This list should include as many relatives as possible of the beneficiary that are living in the US.

I hope this helps. Good luck :)

Thanks, I don't remember my phone # in college, I hope that that isn't a problem, hopefully I can dig out the address that I stayed in college.

By cell phone number, are they referring to just mine, or to other family members as well?

Forgive me for my ignorance, I thought relatives in the United States was prepared by the beneficiary since they are asking for the beneficiaries relatives, right?

For us, I included my cell phone number and my family members cell phone numbers. Also, for my wife, I included her cell phone number and all her family members. Plus if she has relatives in USA, I would include cell phone numbers also. Luckily for me, my wife has no relatives in USA. I think this information would be used if the case gets put into AP. So providing it upfront could make the process faster but who knows.

Thanks for the reply WeatherEmperor, so the list of relatives contains relatives of the beneficiaries residing in the US. Thank you.

That is correct. They want the relatives of the beneficiary.

I don't know if the blue slip specifies who needs to prepare it but I have seen blue slips that state something like this:

"Please provide full names, dates of birth, and addresses of the Beneficiary's relatives in the US."

I am not sure if it really matters who prepares the document, as long as you create it and submit it to the Consulate according to the instructions given on the blue slip.
