Now, if the extremist views of the day had been silenced instead of embraced by the masses, would we have ended up with WWII or would we have just seen terrorist attacks?

Well I don't think anyone will be coming out of the woodwork to claim that this guy's actions are indeed Christian in nature or to needle Christians with ironic derision about religions of "peace". It seems that the bigotry only goes one way too.

When Muslims blow stuff up and people say they aren't "real Muslims", the reaction is invariably derisive laughter.

You implied that the guy may have carried out these attacks because noone listened to him or gave him a "dialogue". If the guy was active in politics for 10-15 years prior to the attacks, he had ample opportunity for a "dialogue", assuming of course that his views were not "out there" to begin with.

Not every country views Hamas as a terrorist organisation (and I'm not talking about other middle eastern countries). Regardless, it is the governing body of part of the Palestinian territories. That alone sets it apart from a lone individual or a paramilitary group with no political power whatsoever. In some ways it is comparable to the situation you have in Northern Ireland, where high level figures in the IRA (with terrorist backgrounds) hold political positions in the government there.

Knock yourself out. Hitler's appeal wasn't exactly unanimous, nor was it solely to do with racist propaganda.

He could have called himself himself Superman, if he wanted. It doesn't make it true or meaningful.
