These snippets portray a Geert Wilders-type of cultural conservative, very opposed to ethnocentrism as a strategy, very positive about the Vienna School, pro-Israel, and also very hostile toward Muslims. Breivik sees Islam as eventually taking over Europe via differential fertility if nothing is done, noting historical data on other areas (e.g., Turkey, Lebanon, Kosovo).

That was a big read and made me sleepy. OK I can maybe see that he did it to get his views known and broadcast all over. Even though I don't agree with it he could have stopped at the bombing and gotten the same reaction. He did not have to go on and slaughter the kids. This showed he was a psycho and unstable. (In the comment section one suggested he was trying to kill the next Stalin or Lenin.)

He did say that he became a businessman so he could make his millions to get his views out so why not do as a Geert has done. Geert has done a lot more toward what this madman did by not being violent. If anything he has harmed his own cause by this violence. The best hope is that the copycats will not be as successful as this horrid man.

Bombing a government building vs. killing a bunch of kids at a political camp?

Not even close to the same thing! If it would've been a bombing at a government building it would've been big news for a few days and a blurb here and there after that. This event will be international news for the rest of this year. It'll also cause politcal camps around the world to review their security procedures and, quite possibly, that party will have to cancel several functions.

Shooting the kids most definitely disrupted that party's operations for some time. Bombing the building wouldn't have done so much. They would've cleaned up and everyone would've went back to work. Now, they have to do things differently - at least for a while.

Yes, because engaging in dialogue is an horrible idea. Keeping them silent seems to work pretty well. Well, until the big boom!

Regardless, the judges has ordered the guy's hearing to be closed. After all it's a prelimary hearing for a criminal trial, not to listen to his Nazi BS.
