My wife fly's So China Air, usually it's 2 check in baggage up to 23-25kilos each. She brought three two checked, one backpack filled and one in overhead. Taxes should be included, she likes the low fares, food is terrible, she says not flying to eat good. Also fly's direct to LA from Guanzghou, China. Remember TSA or similar Airport security more strict coming to US.

Connecting flights purchase at the same time as the international flight will allow the same baggage allowance. If you purchase domestic flights separately, then domestic airline baggage limitations apply. Air China's website will tell you their weight restrictions for your actual flight plan. It varies based on destination and ticket class.

it doesn't?.. hmmmm OK

The OP's question is about domestic connecting flights. The Air China website does NOT clearly explain that. For example, in 2008, we flew Air China from San Francisco to Beijing, where we spent a couple days before continuing to Nanning. Our inside China domestic flights were purchased separately, so when we continued on, we were subject to Air China's domestic baggage policy for the Beijing to Nanning flight. We were technically subject to the same from Nanning back to Beijing but had an airport policeman facilitate having those overlooked.

I don't intend to every make that kind of arrangement again for that reason but more importantly, so that if a domestic flight is delayed, the same airline will be responsible for accommodating any hotel or change of schedule.

The key to the OP's answer is whether they purchased the domestic and international legs on the same ticket. If not, then they are subject to two different baggage rules.

It doesn't appear you actually have any domestic connecting flights unless you are continuing from Chicago. Follow the Air China 23kg rules. Continental will honor those. Continental is part of United now and United honors the Air China allowances, even on domestic connecting flights.

The reason you got two answers is that for a flight from Manila to Beijing only, the free allowance is only one bag at 20kg. You have a leg from China to the USA though, so the China to USA limitations should apply. You may need to explain this to the agent in Manila though, so that they apply the correct rules.

Further, if you want to be absolutely certain, stop by the airport and ask an agent directly.

You shoul call the airline or see through their website.

In my own experieNce, it is going to be based in the way you purchase your tickets. International flights allow more baggage than domestics ones. So if you purshase both separated maybe you are going to need to pay extra money
