Hi, im new to this site and i am so glad i found it My girlfriend who lives in the US (i live in England) is about to file form I-129F and i was wondering if someone could give me a list of what costs we will face and at what point in the process... or at least point me to a place where obtaining this information doesnt require spending hours upon hours of trawling through information that doesnt concern me. thank

Medical costs for England at the moment are £ 210 GBP plus any vaccinations you need on top of what you already got to fulfill the requirements.

Other than that there are additional costs for US sized pass-port pictures, police certificate (about £35 GBP if I recall correctly), birth certificate etc.

Also the fee to file the I-129f is $340.00 then when it is time for the embassy interview you pay for the visa via phone and the visa costs $350.00. After you are approved and get married you file for AOS (adjustment of Status) and thats the biggie as it is $1070.00.

Over the last 7 months it has cost $1600, then we are filing for AOS at the beginning of October and that will be an additional $1070.

The $1600 includes processing fees, two train fares to London for medical and interview, one night in a (cheap) hotel before the interview, and all the fees associated with obtaining the necessary documents (police certificate, long-form birth certificate, medical fees etc.)

Total cost is a minimum of $2700 for us, and of course we have not been frivolous. Good luck!

thank you for all your help... this was starting to be the most scariest thing i have ever done but getting answers from people that have been through it all makes it so much easier do all medicals take place in London do you know?? and am i right in thinking that certain inoculations cost too??

Yes the medical is only done at 2 locations at Knightsbridge Doctors in London near the Bond Street Station. The medical itself is £210.00 or if you need both required jabs then it works out to £273.00. You cant make a medical appointment till you have a case number and your police certificate. You will get a case number with your NOA2. Hope that made sense hehehe let us know if you need more help

Don't forget to add in for the cost of all the little stuff - photocopies, postage, passport photos, fees if any for stuff like police certificates, birth certificates, etc. All those little things can really add up. Every time I had to 'overnight' documents to Africa, it cost about $100 bucks a pop - something I didn't even really think about in the beginning of the process.

The police certificate I would get now or in a few months. It is good for a year after it is issued. I'd maybe wait 2-3 months but in the end it is up to you

You bet I cant wait! After all the work and waiting and stress it's finally time and I'm dancing

Buuuuut it isnt over yet, there is still AOS (Adjustment of Status) and then after that down the line Removal of Conditions and so on but at least for those parts we will be together
