How Can I change my Biometrics appointment or try a walk-in?

Hi,

I have submitted my ROC and just received my NOA. Looking at the timelines, I am expecting a Biometrics letter sooner and my appointment within the month. My problem is that I am scheduled to leave the US on in August for 2 weeks. If the biometrics letter arrives and is scheduled within the dates I am away, what are my options then. Should I re-schedule or try a walk-in. For my AOS, I have experienced that this particular ASC is not polite to applicants and I donot expect any courteousy from them. Any members have any

suggestions or ideas? I'll be grateful.

Thank you for your reply. I guess this is one time when a delay is what I am praying for. In a scenario where I do get a date that clashes with my trip, do I reschedule it by calling the USCIS number or have to make a formal written request. Also, how can I try

for an early walk-in if possible?

You dont need to re-schedule..

When you receive the appointment letter, just go to the USCIS (Jamaica Ave) with your letter,

and tell the officer that you have a trip to do, and they will take your fingerprints or biometric.

The same thing happened to me:

I had a ticket to travel to my country (May 21 to June 4), and I received the appointment letter on May to take the biometrics for June 1/2001... So I went to the USCIS office (Jamaica too) and I told to the officer that I have to travel, and they took my fingerprints.

Thank you so much for the information. Most helpful. I hope I find an officer as cooperative as yours when I show up for a walk-in. I think I should take my traveling Itenirary with me as proof.

Thank You All.
