Waiting is so depressing. Bad news is that in Mumbai India consulate there is only one!! F1 case scheduled for interview; moreover it’s a case that was also scheduled in July so it looks like some AP for more documents :( another retrogression?? Hopefully it won’t hurt people from other areas then India!!! Just wish for the best

As it stands right now, it takes around 7 ½ years for category F1 to become current. I think this is the worst it has ever been historically for this particular category.

My hope is that in the next VB of October 2011, which is the first month of the new fiscal year, the cut off date of 01MA04 will finally take off and move forward! A steady movement of 3 months at a time would be healthy … just dreaming!

Very good to see F1 filers here...i've been waiting for 6 yrs 2mths now and am doing fine...when my case was completed in Feb 2011 i was very exited and then angry because the dates got pushed back from 2005 to 2004. Visajourney made me learn that there's nothing anyone can do before your date is current. After visiting http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5542.html. i read and understand how the system works. My PD is Jun 05...so u see i came so close but yet so far... (i wish) don't worry the visa bulletin is unpredictable...it can move one month as well as a year...its not as long as it seem from your date. Just pray and hope that visa numbers start to flood so the PDs can move faster every month...all the best F1 filers...even though we stuck at May 2004 for the past 6mths...jah alone know!

Looks like we are all glad to see some other F1 members. It's good to know that other people have similar wishes to mine :) My dream was to see at least Jan 05 from January 2011 Visa Buletin. Unfortunately It did not come true, but staying positive and in good mood keeps us going :);) ;) ;) LOL to all F2A who are crying that 2-3 year waitnig time is unfair, for us it's almost 7 !!!! Good luck to all

I've seen posts from people that completed their cases before retrogression, but never got interview!!. This is link to a profile of person with PD jan 06 who already had an interview but was told to wait for PD to be current http://www.trackitt.com/member/Blacky24 This person sent I-485 on sept 2010 then recieved RFE on oct 2010 and got intervie scheduled for march 2011. Sounds bad, but if you are in US, and your PD is current, and you file I485 you are granted EAD; Eventhough your PD gets retrogressed before interview all you do is wait for PD to be current. I think that there was like 270 000 F1 cases waiting in line as of 2010 ( http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/WaitingListItem.pdf ), If there is maybe 0.1% of them posting on diferent forums we will never know how many or if any of 2006 cases got their visas.
