I'm a 22 year old mother of 2 girls, ages 3 and 1, and my husband has been in Mexico now for 1 year, 2 months, 2 weeks and 1 day today. He had his first interview on May 14th, his second interview on June 7th, he went for a 3rd interview and they sent him an expired visa. He went to Ciudad Juarez recently and they told him that he has to do another interview...i'm not sure how it usually goes...so if anyone has information or advice please help!

Welcome to VJ!

We need information to help you:

- Why did your husband need a second interview, did he overstay/ enter the USA illegally previously? Details on thatb if so.

- When you say they sent him an expired visa, what exactly do you mean?

My husband entered the U.S. illegally in 2002. So he was automatically denied at his first interview on May 14th, which we knew that would happen. So he was scheduled to go on June 7th to his 2nd interview and he went and the requested for me to send more information...which i did...and then he was scheduled for a 3rd interview on February 25th, he went to that interview and was issued his visa on March 2nd...he received his visa on June 13th and it was already expired. Our lawyer told us that he would have to go to Ciudad Juarez and go to the information window and find out what to do...so he went on July 19th and the people he talked to said that he would get his visa within the week and then our lawyer said that he has to schedule another interview...this would be his 4th interview at the Consulate.

***** Moving from Introducing Members to Waiver forum as OP should get a better response there *****

That is very odd, that they sent a visa which was expired. What date was on the visa? Do you think they printed the visa after the first interview by mistake? Do you know why it took from beginning of March to mid June to get the passport back with the expired visa?

When was his medical? The Visa's validity can not exceed the validity period of the immigrant's medical.

he always had his medical exams the day before his appointments so May 13 and they did another on February 24 and then they did a 3rd one July 20th.

Something smells rotten in the state of Denmark. Was a waiver filed for his overstay, maybe this is what the second interview was for and additional documents were for? Seems his attorney is not doing his job.

We filed an I-601 waiver, application for waiver of grounds of inadmissibility. then he went to his 2nd interview on June 7TH and they requested for more information to be sent to them...and then on his 3rd he was issued his visa on March 2ND. He received his visa at the DHL branch on June 13Th and it was already expired. We contacted our lawyer right away and he said that my husband had to go to Juarez and talk to the people there at the information window...which he did and then the people said that he would have his visa within the week...our lawyer contacted my husband and said that he had to have another appointment. Which is what I do not understand...how many appointments do they have to go to in order to get their visa??
