Paperwork hell, and more to come! Please help....

Hey all I spent about EIGHT HOURS today getting just the paperwork done for my fiance. I am sure we have all been there and we ought to be able to help each other on this bulk of papers. My fiance is coming over with two kids. The forms they want are:

One per person:

DS-230 part 1

DS-156 (in duplicate)

DS-157 (in duplicate)

One each:

DS-156K

DS-2001

Proof we have met (airline stubs, etc)

Medical forms (will take to the doc first)

Now here are my questions:

1. The kids are 5 and 6 years old. They cannot be expected to sign their own applications. Does Mom sign for them or are the signature lines left blank?

2. The DS-2001 says to mail back the DS-2001 and DS-230 Part 1. That's all. Do we keep the rest of the paperwork for the in person interview then?

3. There are other kids which are over 18 and staying in the UK as they are established. We really need their original birth certs?

I am sure I will have more questions and as we go through the process I will be happy to leave feedback for others soon to follow in these footsteps.

You return all the forms (except for any I-134) but none of the documents.

The Embassy website does say, "Obtain the original, or certified copy, of the birth record of each family member (yourself, your spouse, and all unmarried children under the age of 21, even if they are not immigrating with you." so it seems like yes you will need the birth certificates of your children aged 18-20 too.

London has their own preferred way to collect things. So follow London's K1 instructions http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html over what the worldwide forms say. DS-156K says include documents with it, but London would rather you hold on to those and bring them to the interview.

Fiance plus each child applying need:

DS-230 part 1

DS-156 (in duplicate)

DS-157 (in duplicate)

Fiance needs:

DS-156K

Mail ONLY those things in with no supporting documents included

Once fiance has all the interview documents in her possession Listed here---> Long page. Read it all.. Then mail this--

DS-2001 (no DS-230 with it---that was already sent while she was getting her documents gathered)

Cover letter containing her email address, if applicable, date of your wedding and date of the medical examination.

Never mailed or taken to the interview

Proof we have met (airline stubs, etc) London doesn't look at relationship stuff. Already proven with I-129F. It's not in their list http://london.usembassy.gov/interview_documents.html
