Just to warn everybody. I now have two seperate events that the postal service has not delivered mail unless the letter carrier was informed that the person is now living at that address. The first was when my now wife arrived and we applied for a SSC. It never arrived. So I sent a card for Women's Day and it was returned to the sender's address--my work address. Just recently my bother moved into the home of our parents after my Mother passed away. He started to complain about not getting any mail. So today we went to the local post office and again was asked if his name was on the mailbox or had we informed the carrier. #######, he has lived there since 1962 and has always been able to recieve mail there. We have not received anything for my Dad, my Mother, my brother and me and all with the same last name. So we filled out a card to have all mail address to that address delivered.

So if you find you have not receive a SSC or a NOA in the mail, do not blame SSA or the USCIS until you check with the USPS to make certain the new member of your household is included to receive mail at that address--this seems to be letter carrier specific, but remember that the regular carrie takes a day off and the substutite carrier maybe the one that returns the mail..

Hope this helps somebody not miss an important document in the future.

Dave
