There is a question in form I130 (13): If you are citizen by naturalization give certificate # and date and place of issuance.

I'm looking my wife's certificate of citizenship but i can not find the place of issuance. I should put just USA?

If she has a Certificate of Citizenship, then she most likely became a US citizen when one of her parents was naturalized. Another explanation is that while she was born abroad, her dad was a US citizen and she had to prove this in order to claim her citizenship. The year the Certificate was issued, combined with her age, should give a clue.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Thank for the answer....I know the date when the certificate was issued...this information is very clear in the certificate. My question is about the place of issuance. My wife doesn't remember and this data is not in the certificate.

Can I just write as an answer:

(certificate #),(date of issuance), USA

Your wife doesn't remember in what town she lived at the time she became a US citizen?

I'm having a hard time grasping that unless she just awoke out of a deep coma and doesn't even remember where she went to school or played or grew up . . .

Of course she knows where she received the certificate. Of course I know where she grew up.

Don't missunderstend me...the question says "give certificate # and date and place of issuance" OF THE CERTIFICATE (please check question B-13 in the form I-130). It doesn't says "Place where you received the certificate". That's why we are confused.

Um, it's the same thing.

Thanks... that's all I wanted to know. We were confused because the cetificate could be issued here in USA and later sended to Bolivia (the country of my wife). To me issuance is the place where the certificate was created. However, if is the same I missunderstood what they wanted to know.

So....the answer for this question (B-13) should say:

If you are a U.S citizenship, complete the following:

Naturalization. Give certificate number and date and place of issuance.

Answer:(certificate #),(date of issuance), Cochabamba-Bolivia

To naturalize, you must be in the US. So no, she didn't naturalize in Bolivia. Was one of her parents a USC? Ws she granted citizenship through them and did they file a Consular Report of Birth Abroad? This is very confusing...

I told you is confusing.

Her mother is USC, she granted citizenship through her when she was living in Miami, Fl. Before that she recived the permanent residency in Bolivia.

So the answer is MIAMI Fl. :) I got it.

Okay! Sounds good! So your wife moved to the US on as a LPR, her mother got Citizenship, and when that happened, they lived in Miami. Wife got citizenship when her mother did. Now we're talking some sense!

If she naturalized, she would have a Certificate of Naturalization, would have taken an Oath in the United States, and would have a Certificate of Naturalization. You are talking about a Certificate of Citizenship. As I pointed out in my earliest post, it is not "normal" to have a Certificate of Citizenship. Either your wife became a US citizen as a child based on the naturalization of one of her parents, or she claimed US citizenship based on having a US citizen father while being born abroad.

WOW...you are right "just bob" so naturalization is not our option because my wife has a certificate of citizenship because of the naturalization of her mother. That is the third option of the question

If you are a U.S citizenship, complete the following:

PARENTS. HAVE YOU OBTAINED A CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP IN YOUR OWN NAME :thumbs:THIS IS IT

NOW...this is crazy but I have other confusion...the certificate of citizenship has 2 number starting with an A

The first one is on the right corner in the top and it says "No. AXXXXXXX" (X= NUMBER)

The second one is under the title and says "Registration number AXXXXXXXX"

What is my certificate number?

Is any of this number = Alien number?

IT LOOKS LIKE THE FIRST ONE IS THE CERTIFICATE NUMBER

THE SECOND ONE (INS Registration No.) I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS IT BECAUSE I UNDERSTAND THAT CITIZENSHIP PEOPLE HAVE NOT ALIEN NUMBER.
