Hi, I have a couple general questions if you don't mind, since your experience is recent and includes kids. When you paid the visa fee was that just a single fee for your fiance or a seperate fee for each child? Also if any of the kids were under 13 did they have to attend the CFO seminar or your fiance just register them for the sticker? My case includes a 7 year old boy and we will be facing these things in the coming few months. Thanks and good luck on your flight! Jim.

My fiance has two daughters to tend to and has never flow, let along, flown internationally, so I gonna go get them. Besides, it will the last time I go to the Philippines for while.

I used expedia and purchsed 2 round trip tickets and 1 one way from manila. Took a little searching to find the same return flights but did pretty well on the prices.

You are certain I have never been to the PI?

You do realize that my current wife is my SECOND I-129F?

Nope, don't know what you know about the PI, and have no idea how many wives you have from abroad, was just asking if you have some knowledge to add to the topic, as we all have our own experiences to share, and as long as we share it constructively, we help each other. Your info may be just what some other VJ'er needs to make a decision.

SOME (not all) airlines will NOT allow you to book a flight online & some (not all) TA will NOT book a flight for travel originating from the Philippines for Philippines Passport holders. For example if you try to book on Korean Air site you will get this message:

According to Philippines law, tickets for flights departing from the Philippines cannot be purchased from any region other than the Philippines. In accordance with the law, such flight tickets are not available in Korean Air's homepage. If you wish to purchase tickets for flights departing from the Philippines, please contact Korean Air office or service center in your region.

There are some airlines & travel agents that are able to book tickets from outside the Philippines because they have an agreement to do so with the Philippines government.

Yeah I tired my local travel agent but they said they could not book a one way flight for a non-US passport holder.

Thanks,

Lyn and Art

Just my two cents, seems like delta is always the cheapest as long as you don't care when you go and don't need more than a months notice. If you check every month you will notice significant price drops that appear randomly. I have been there twice and both times my ticket cost from Philadelphia to MNL were about $1250 round trip after tax. Otherwise they are usually 1900- 2300.

I have always flown delta/northwest out of Baltimore, so I am used to that route. Our POE will be Detroit and then it is a one hour flight to Maryland.

My challenge will be arranging for us to sit together on the flight home so that I can help with the girls. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Lyn and Art

Too easy. Just tell them you are traveling with small children, they should be able to seat you together, particularly if you book ealry enough.

In the last chapter of the Hardy Boys books they always explain how the smuggler was getting past law enforcement.

You forgot to tell us how you solved the crime. Did you just book online or call delta?

You skipped right to the part where they cart the bad guy off to jail and Frank and Joe relax before the next mystery pops up.
