I-134 Assets Question: Fax or Scan Letter?

Hi, my fiancee has her interview on the 26th of this month and I just want to see if a fax or scanned copy of a bank letter would work with the I-134.

I'm just shy of the income guidelines (fresh out of university), but I have a retirement fund that holds more than triple the requirement for 5x the difference formula.

The bank I have these funds invested with isn't local, so they had to mail me the letter, which arrived late. I have already shipped everything else off. We're so late in the game that I don't know if I could mail it and have it arrive on time. Will a fax work? How about a scanned digital copy? Thanks.

Well a bird at hand is better than nothing at all.

Send her the scanned digital copy, and mail the letter as express as possible. She can always explain to them the problem and if they request the original it should reach her a few days not too far after the interview.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'll go ahead and do it.

Does anyone have any experience with whether they accept faxed or scanned copies?

Just letting everyone know that my fiancee's interview was this morning and we're approved!

Having a faxed copy of my bank letters was not an issue at the Montreal consulate. This included my Roth IRA mutual retirement funds, as well as my normal checking and savings accounts.

Good luck to you all!
