Please any VJ'rs with similar experience please help us out.

Another question for all: What type of Visa would I apply for to stay more than 6 months in Nigeria? I know that we will have to have a co-sponser if we apply for cv1. I don't want to be apart from my man for another year or more. I want to be with him as we continue the Visa journey.

I am glad you replied. I would like to hear your story too. This was a hard week for the 2 of us. There has not been a day that I have not cried. Our friends and family were shocked to find out that he had beed denied visa. Please let me know how you have handled this.

Getting denied is life shattering, plans go to dust and you are too numb to think straight. I was there when we got denied. While everything is still fresh write down EVERY detail of the interview(s) You need to go over this many times to pick up on any reason they refused it. Use your anger to fight back. Not only did we get denied but his father had a heart attack and died when the news got to the village.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

NigeriaorBust, I am so sorry for what happened to your father-in-law. I also know the pain you are referring to "too well", as you know my fiance and I were recently denied as well. I fully agree with your words. I had my fiance write down all the questions and answers, which asked during all three interviews he had. I have gone over them with him for reasons as to why? We are both still getting over the shock and the numbness. We both realize we need time to heal. That anger which I feel has turned into fighting energy. We are moving forward stronger, this has brought us closer and the experience has made us wiser. We filed prior to joining VJ, if we had been members when I filed, things would of been different. I would of sent more evidence, and done things differently, for we would of known what we are dealing with "Nigeria" the embassy from hell.

Hopefully with the new information and what we have learned since joining VJ will help us with the next move... :bonk:

I pray for everyone who has experienced this deep pain of denial, our thoughts are with them. But when ready, one must collect themselves and move forward and fight for what is one's rights.
