According to the info on the N-400 the earliest I can file my application is November 25th. What I want to know is:

Can I return to my Country before November 25th without causing problems with my N-400?

If I can how long can i stay without causing any problem with my application?

Also, I want to know if I can file my N-400 application from my home country?

Finally, does my husband need to be with there with me because right now he is on a contract outside of the US.

1) You are a resident. You are free to travel before, during, and after your N-400 is being adjudicated. None of this will pose any problems.

2) You cannot file from abroad. You could prepare your package and have a friend mail it from the US though.

3) Your husband is not part of the naturalization process. He is not needed at any stage anymore.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Have to watch that residency requirement, in our opinion, filing for citizenship is optional, but a commitment. So we plan on zero trips during that commitment.

About four years ago, was taking as long as two or more years to complete the N-400 process, that has been cut down to more like four months.

If thinking about applying for marriage, a heck of a lot hassle to wait the five years. I was in a rush for my wife as maintaining her foreign passport was a real pain in the ####. Guess what, she still has to maintain it. In regards to voting, either her or I didn't like either candidate. In regards to her conditional green card with her employer, her case was put at rest with her ten year green card.

But at least now, if she gets up at night to use the rest room, doesn't have to take her green card with her.
