Update!!!

I called the embassy and they have our petition! WooHoo! They hadn't mailed Packet 3 to Florin yet, so he will be able to pick it up today at 1pm. I hope they will schedule his interview today. I'm so excited I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight!

Congrats Laurel!! We are almost there! I have to say I am SO impressed and pleased with how fast things have progressed since our papers escaped American shores Daniel received his packet 3 this AM and is enroute to Bucharest now to deliver them back. The very helpful lady at the embassy went ahead and offered to schedule his interview since he was coming today with all the required papers. His medical is on Monday (Nov 12) and his interview is this TUESDAY (Nov 13) at 1 pm. I have not slept a wink since he called to tell me!!!

I never imagined it would go this fast! I was just hoping for something by the end of November! Thank you God!!!

Hey guys, Florin picked up Packet 3 and filled in the paperwork, but they wouldn't schedule his interview until he had his medical exam. He is going tomorrow morning for that, so hopefully we will know the interview date tomorrow! I'm hoping he will have his next week as well I'm so excited! I can't believe how fast things are going now. Lots and lots of luck to pedsgirl and her fiance! Keep us posted on the interview! I know he will do just fine. Will he come for Thanksgiving? I told Florin if it was possible, I really wanted him here by then. I told him to stop working on Monday so he could get ready to come here!

I can't wait for him to come I'm so very, very excited!!!

Yes that's true...we might not find out anything until Monday now . Florin has to get a document from his family doctor first stating he is in good health. He also needs his vaccination records. If he doesn't have the right ones he might need to get them. I don't think it's too big of a deal, but we will see. He has to have these two things before he goes for the medical exam. He found out his family doctor is not working until the afternoon tomorrow, so I don't know if he will have to reschedule his medical exam tomorrow moring. UGH! Either way I'm sure it can all be figured out by Monday, but I was so hoping to have good news for the weekend. Oh well, the end is in sight!

Lari_l good luck on getting your NOA2, you're time is coming soon. Laura_Z how's the RFE thing going? I hear that once the information is submitted they don't take that long to make a decision. I'm just trying to be patient on waiting for the CSC to send my packet to the NVC. Hopefully it won't take them too terribly long.

My fiance lived in bucharest (unofficially no registered address) for a while and lives in alexandria now. Can she just get a certificate from alexandria or does she need from both? She is pretty sure she wont be able to get one in bucharest since she never registered an address there....

Also how long are police certificates valid for...and can she get the medical done now or should she wait?

if she didn't register in bucharest there she can't get anyhting there...you should call the embassy or email them to see if she can get her appointment early. good luck !!!

well, on nov 6 our cases status online has changed(case resumed), that is 10 days after we sent the package. our last touch was on nov 7th and still no approval. we're waiting impatiently and can't wait to be on the role like u guys are...hope NVC receives your package soon CherryBlossoms!

i wouldn't worry about it...but then again you never know. police certificates are good for 6 moths and as far as i know it is issued in 15 working days, or less, depending on the city she is in. don't strees too much about it and try to take everything as it comes because otherwise you'll have grey hairs coming out

oh yea and packet 3, you can download the forms off of the embassy website as well and have them read and filled out, instead of waiting for it from the embassy, i know its a forever wait for the packet 3 from the embassy in bucharest.

Looks like we won't know the interview date until Monday. I was hoping to know by today, but it didn't work out. Florin had to get a document from his family doctor before having his medical exam. So, he went today to get that document and then will go Monday morning to have his exam. He might have to get some immunizations, but they should be able to help him with that at the exam. After that he will take the papers straight to the embassy, turn in the checklist and then they will schedule his interview. I'll keep you guys posted! He was also able to pick up his police certificate yesterday, so I think we will be ready to go on Monday. Larisa, I asked Florin about the police cert and he said you could get it at the district office or at the central office in Bucuresti. He got his at the district office because it was more convenient for him. But, he thought the central office might issue them a few days earlier than at the district office. But, if you plan ahead it shouldn't be a problem.
