You don't need SSN for marriage. You can apply for SSN before you get married, then go after married and have the name changed on the card.

Cat dureaza sa-ti iei SSN-ul? Iti trebuie ssn ca sa get married?

Fiecare stat are legislatia lui, asa ca e mai bine sa intrebi. In cazul meu nu a fost nevoie si slava domnului ca a fost asa, ca daca aveam nevoie de SSN nu ne-am fi casatorit nici pana acum .

S-a facut o greseala la POE si nu am fost introdusa in sistem. Am fost la social security adinistration la 2 saptamani dupa POE si nu m-au gasit in sistem...Apoi am aflat ca nu-mi luasera unul din formulare . Am fost la USCIS, sperand ca ma pot trece ei direct in computer...but guess what? nu s-a putut! m-au trimis la port of entry si nu-mai-stiu-cum security Omaha, unde mi-au luat formularul, dar mi-au spus ca il vor trimite prin posta in Virginia!!! Posta?! Anyway, abia pe la jumatatea lui Nov. voi putea sa merg din nou sa aplic pt SSN... .

F multe state nu cer SSN pt casatorie, asa ca e posibil sa fie cazul si Penn...

What is the best way for me to bring her to the US with me?

We have been together a while - and we both want to be together.

I'm in Afghanistan with the military right now.. so it won't be until March that we can do anything further.

I would just like any help I can get - from those who have done this from Romania.

Sunteti norocosi, avand in vedere ca esti in armata. Puteti depune actele si dupa aceea la USCIS poti face expedite in baza simplului fapt ca esti USC si ca esti in army. Cea mai buna solutie e casatoria si dupa I-130, sau I-129 pentru viza de logodna. Pe VJ veti gasi ghidul cu ceea ce trebuie sa stiti si sa faceti, urmand ca ulterior sa va decideti ce viza veti solicita. Pentru alte nelamuriri poti scrie si vei primi raspunsurile cu siguranta.

I would like to tell you about the whole process. You'd better go for K-1, it's a bit faster than CR-1. The K-1 is the fiance(e) visa. Find out more about it in the guides.

We looked through the K1 process - it looked pretty straight forward. I was trying to determine the timeline from the flowchart that is on this page. I know Cosmina is worried because she doesn't live near the Embassy... So we will have to figure out exactly what she has to do before she has to pay out of pocket.

The K1 visa process is indeed a bit quicker, but more expensive. The other option is to get married first and then file for the IR/CR1 visa. My K1 visa process took about 100 days (CR1 usually takes around 130-145 days), but I will have to adjust status soon (get GC and employment authorization). Had we filed for CR1, I would have gotten the GC already .

Yep, HappyRs is right. Consulate Reviews aici pe VJ arata ca avem an easy consulate, ceea ce inseamna ca daca totul e in regula, aveti dovezile si relatia e pe bune... atunci veti primi viza fara probleme!
