A# total confusion

I am trying to help my wife complete her I-131 and the first box is the A# or Alien number. I have read probably 100 posts and I am more confused than when I started. It has an 0 it doesn't have one. It's on her visa its not on her visa. In red not in red. 8 digits 10 digits, you get the point. I have found an A# on my petition approval form in the beneficiary box BUT it is 9 digits and does not have a zero after the (A) example A249 423 624 (only an example). Can someone who really knows tell me if this is her alien number???? Please....

My A# is on my I-94, it is at the side of my I.D photo to the right hand side of the photo. You should also find it on your NOA that you received. It should be the same, I hope this helps and it is not red.

A plus 9 numbers. It is on the NOA2, the visa and most likely written on the I-94

I remember that I had the same problem, on my passport they put a "0", in front of the number-

however on my green card, it's a A+9 number, they didn't add the "0"
