Hi everyone, a newbie here. I came in as an International Student and currently is under my 2nd H1B (which will be expired on Aug 12, 2012). I met my wife (USC) in Oct 2010 and got married in May 2011. I sent my AOS and I-130 on June 28th and received by the USCIS Chicago lockbock on July 1st. So I am in this July 2011 Filers thread.

I received a text on 7/7 and my checks were cashed on that date as well. Then I got my I-797 for I-485 and I-130 on 7/11. However, up until now I haven't gotten my biometric. I keep checking my status and it still the same (initial review for both). I guess I should wait for a few more days before calling then? What would you all suggest?

On other note, would you recommend me getting an AP or should I apply for interview for H1-B stamp (my H1-B has never been stamp because I have not been out of the country)?

Hi! I'm surprised how ow dates are so close,I Sent my AOS on June 25th and was received by Chicago lockbox on June 27th.I recived the Email on July 1st and checks were cashed that same day.I got my NOA in the mail on 7/05 and like you I haven't gotten my biometrics letter either,my status has also not changed since then.

I'll wait until 08/05 since will be 1 month from when I got my NOA in the mail and my husband will call them,hopefully I will get the letter in the mail before the 5th.

About your AP do you plan going out of the country while the AOS is pending? if yes I think you should get it,if not don't worry about it since when you receive your green card there will be no no need for it.

@dragobill I would get AP just in case you need to travel, so you have that option. I'm not too familiar with your type of visa but I undrstand that when you apply for AOS you would no longer travel with your original visa. But i don't know very much about H1-B.

Thanks LinaB and Desmond, I just received my biometric appointment letter for 8/24 yesterday. Lina, I guess we just need to be really really patient.

I am going to try to do a walk-in for this. I hope they will allow me to do so.

We filed our AOS off B1/B2 VISA On July 21. Yesterday July 30, we recieved our NOA1 and biometrics letter for August. We are hoping the EAD comes fast and furious.

07/21/11 filed AOS off tourist visa

07/28/11 USCIS cashed check

07/30/11 Recieved NOA1 and Biometrics letter

08/24/2011 Biometrics

08/25/2011 RFE sent to us for some info we've already sent in

08/30/2011 sent in the rest of info USCIS asked for

09/13/2011 went to congressman's office to sign papers for expedite of work permit, due to financial hardship

09/15/2011 Work permit expedite approved!! He can finally find a job!

09/24/2011 work permit arrives

09/26/2011 Apply for social security number!

09/30/2011 Letter is sent for interview

11/07/2011 INTERVIEW!!!

Its 2012 and still no approval! Still waiting

01/27/2012 Letter sent stating that file was sent on for more review :(

Just got the dreaded RFE text message.... Not sure what they are missing, I guess I will find out when I get the letter in the mail.

Wow, I can finally post an update!!

We got the biometrics appointment letter on Saturday but, strangely enough, no NOA yet. I had a successful walk in yesterday (I'm not working so I figured why not try). They were pretty slow, I thought I would have to plead my case with the guard but it went more like this:

Me: Hello, I was wondering if..

Guard: Take this clipboard and fill it out over there

Me: Oh, ok!

Easy as pie and I was out in 20 minutes. :dance:

2007: Admitted what we both knew all along...

December 25,2008: He proposed!!!!

May 9, 2009: Got married

May 10th, 2011: Date that lawyer claimed he mailed out AOS package

July 14th, 2011: Date that lawyer *actually* mailed out AOS package

July 18th, 2011: USCIS started processing our application

July 30th, 2011: Received Biometrics Appointment (8/11/11)

August 1st, 2011: Successful Biometrics walk-in

August 3rd, 2011: Received all NOA hard copies

September 12, 2011: Card production notice for EAD (!!!)

September 13, 2011: I765 touched

September 19, 2011: EAD arrived in the mail

December 28, 2011: Received email notification of our interview date

February 1, 2012: Interview

February 29, 2012: Approval notice via email(!!!)

March 7, 2012: Card arrives in the mail (!!!)

another biometric letter received: 05.11.2011
went back for biometric centre: 05.12.2011 { was told that my last biometrics was good}

I can understand that you hate waiting we all do. Be patient you will hear something. It took a few weeks from USCIS receiving my package to me actually getting the NOA's. Be patient and it will all work out :)

Sep 2009- Met at school

November 29 2009- Asked her to be exclusive

July 4 2010- Asked for her hand in marriage

Dec 23 2010- Got married!!!

Mar 10 2011- Filed AOS with USCIS

Mar 11 2011- USCIS received app

April 9 2011- Received NOA for all forms

April 29 2011- Biometrics appointment scheduled

April 19 2011- Successful walk in biometrics in Phoenix

May 15- Received a RFE birth certificate/financial docs

June 9- Sent RFE back

June 13- Received email stating RFE response review

If its any consolation, while I did get my hard copy NOA's, I got a text RFE on Monday and I live down South and it seems it takes a good 10 days for anything to get down here from the date it gets mailed...this RFE will probably stall us for a couple of weeks :angry: . So your situation might not be so bad, maybe it's all coming along and you'll get your biometrics soon (which I havent gotten, either). I've heard of people never even receiving NOAs...
