Just got woke up with a text to call my fiancee... she just was telling me the visa interview was passed and they told her she was approved, but she did have to go to the NSO and get an additional doc with her ex-marriage name on it as it was when she was married 12 years ago ... then she is to send it and the passport in to the embassy for processing. :crying: They also gave her a paper to send in with it and the 2Go forms and told her it was a free shipping service.

Once she gets the required doc, what time frame would we be looking at? Does the processing take place rather quickly? The CO did tell her she was approved upon arrival of the additional doc.

I think once they receive the additional docs they asked from you, just hafto wait 7-10 working days for your visa :) She is already approved.

First, congratulations for your approval. Well, as soon as your fiance will submit the documents that the embassy asking, you can call the embassy and ask if they receive the documents and to make sure that they are looking at it. Because there were some cases that they already submitted the documents and one week past by and no reply so they call the embassy to ask and yes they got the documents but havent been forwarded to the Consular yet. Better to check to make sure its in the CO's hand.

Oh okay. The application was put under 221g but you only need to pass that particular doc asap. I had the same experience. When I submitted the documents, I called USEM to check if they have my docs already. The agent said that it was forwarded to the consular officer a day after they received my docs. My visa arrived already with no updates from them. I was surprised but of course it was a delightful one indeed! lol. I waited for 15 working days from the time I submitted my docs. :)

congrats on the approval!

hey,i have been in her shoes almost more than a month ago

let me give you the time frame i had before my daughter and i got the visas....:

may 24,2011 was our interview...the CO told me that i am approved for a visa.BUT in order for them to complete the process for the visa.he requested me to submit an NBI with an AKA name from my previous married..our passports were back to me and on the 221g form it says that passports should be mailed together with the required documents.

it took me 8 working days before i was able to submit the required documents bcoz my name was HIT AT THE nbi.

june 9,2011 when i got my NBI.....on that very same dayi sent the all documents...

june 13,2011 when the embassy got the docs...

june 14 when the CO got hold of it.

june 30, when our visa approved and printed

july 6, when i got our visa packets

i hope this can be a help....

good luck!!

@ therese828,

Thanks a lot, this is exactly what Dulce needed, the NBI docs from the former marriage with the AKA on it..

Ok, she is in route as I type this flying home to General Santos from Manila. She claims she contacted the NSO and will get the required NBI on Monday.
