Good Grief-I see the " resolution for a united/friendly/sisterly MENA forum" failed.

Someone can't start a thread with happy news without a wad happening!!

I am not Muslim, but I know that if I was the lady in question here, I would be highly offended. Give her ( Henia) some respect and dignity, for goodness sake! Her happy thread has been stomped on in the most undignified ( or I should say classless) way!! Just congratulate her and mind your own business on wether it was an " engagement" or "whatever" party!

Well, it's getting difficult to know the Muslims from the non-Muslims since most of them have an extremely laisse faire attitude toward enjoining the good and rejecting the evil. I admit that I had no intention of having this issue be blown up as it has been, and didn't originally intend to go beyond my first inguiring post. But I answered sarah's quetion, one thing lead to another, and when I came back to the thread and found myself called names and accused to saying things I did not say (some folks cannot read!).

Like I said before, I don't know what the story is with Henia. Frankly, I was surprised at the response of the Muslims, in particular (Lord knows why after all this time), arguing ipso facto that it's ok to do as you please in a Muslim country. They want to be soooo nice and sweet that they have no backbone for the faith, and a deep distaste for anyone with a backbone for the faith. It's fascinating the lengths that some will go to to not to read a sentence correctly or evaluate the situation in light of proper practice. It is required of us to provide guidance when we see the opportunity.

Non-Muslims, I have no quarrel with you here. It's the Muslims I'm interested in.

szsz, given she is not a usc yet, she has obviously not filed a k-1 or k-3 or anything else due to not being qualified to do so. it's apparent to me that her marriage must therefore be a valid one because there is no reason for it not to be. so for the sake of peace, let's not try to beat a horse to death over this matter.

Don't have to be Muslim to be offended.

I completely understand why anyone ( not just a Muslim ) would be offended!

If I were Henia, and my reputation was called into question, I would be offended!

It's all offensive and stomps all over her happy news, it's actually sad and disgusting to trample and dissect her wedding night! People can't mind their own business.

So, why didn't you speak with her about this and "guide her" before hand? Why not guide instead of insult? Why not teach instead of condemn? You put yourself high above everyone else here so why not make more quality use of it? Might be interesting, eh?

Perhaps some self-criticism would do you well. I have insulted no one IF they are married.

I'm curious. The reaction this is getting infers that many believe they are not, or the offense would not be so deep and strong.

Although no one pays attention to what I ACTUALLY post, I will say it again. This is not so much about Henia now, she has said nothing about her legal situation. It is, for me, about the reactions of others.
