This is the problem with stupid people who call themselves muslims is that they can't just be happy for other muslims without trying to call them out for sins that they think they are committing though they speak on no authority of God!

A real muslim would not try to call someone out in public like what goes on in this place because backbiting and slander is haraam haraam haraam!!!! So is spying on your brothers and sisters and judging them!

These same self proclaimed muftis don't even follow simple and basic commands of Allah yet they are always so quick to judge others here. Get a life!!

I promised myself I wasn't gonna get involved with any more controversial talk on this board but I must say something about this. I think it's awful that a certain person here is talking assumptions and pointing her finger at Henia saying that she's a fornicator and doing haraam. I know Henia..maybe not all that well but I know her. She's a very good Muslimah. She would never fornicate or do these sorts of haraam things. Isn't a religious ceremony recognized in the eyes of Allah? Shouldn't we let Henia tell us what kind of visa she's planning on filing instead of taking it upon ourselves to assume and judge? I think it's just awful to talk about Henia in this way. She isn't even here to defend herself. In my experience with ppl like this it's jealousy that makes them talk this way and make sweeping accusations. Maybe jealousy about Henia's elaborate wedding and obvious love and acceptance by her husband's family.

I'm soooo happy for you, Henia. You're a wonderful woman and good Muslimah mashallah. You deserve all the best.

yup.. that was a point that should be brought up.. but anyways, they are in for a long wait anyways no matter which type of visa they choose.

marriage certificates/licenses are very hard for foreigners to get in algeria (lots of paper pushing and background checks to do, mind you the license can take any amount of time from 3 weeks ranging up to 4 months)

Should Henia spend her entire trip in Algeria sitting in limbo at a female relatives house because the government there is extremely slow and full of red tape? with spending all that money on the ticket to sit at someone's house and not be able to spend time with him?

NO, and I'm sure Henia wouldn't be doing this to any one of us on this board either. Who are any of us to judge any other of us??? This is between any given individual and Allah (the God, whatever name you choose to call on). I believe w/ all of my heart that Henia is a good, strong and righteous Muslimah and would never go against the will of Allah. In any case, it doesn't matter what I believe, b/c as I said before, it's between the individual and God. So, back off!!! Anyone being judgemental will have to face this on Judgement Day and all will be right in the kingdom of God. So, all that soapbox ranting aside....

I was not trying to turn this thread ugly.. I'm just sick to death of this #######! Henia is a friend and a sister to me! I'm not going to stand for her being mocked and her good name trashed like this! Want for your sisters what you want for yourselves ya akhawaat!!!

ETA: I also know how reading those comments are likely to make Henia feel as I was once also the latest on a certain someone's 'slander as a #######' list. It's not fun It's also a bunch of ####### coming from who it comes from.

Wait, what did I do? SZSZ asked if she was filing a K-3 and I was saying maybe it was possible to file a K-1 because I wasn't sure what was recognized in the US as a marriage and what is not. I love Henia I have nothing against her and I know nothing about Islamic marriage so what I was wondering, which was a general question is whether or not she could still technically do the K-1. I hope that I am not being called a bych for this cause I was curious as to what kind of marriage she had... I know nothing about halal and haram and I am not accusing anyone of anything so I hope I am not a "vicious bych" that was referred to. Henia knows I am very happy for her and I love her... my question was general. Yikes.
