Bonjour,

Hi all. I just posted this on the regular K1 visa forum, and I was hoping to get a little more help from the French forum. I am not sure if this is the right place to post it, and I apologize that it is not in French, but I just am a bit confused.

I am waiting for my NOA2 from Vermont, and being a March filer, I am hoping for news within the next month or so. I am trying to prepare myself for the next steps, but I am a bit confused about what exactly I (as the petitioner) must do.

After I receive the NOA2, do I need to contact the NVC/Paris Embassy? Like, if I did not contact them, what would happen? I know from there everything gets sent over to the embassy in Paris, and my fiance will be notified about it. Does he have to make a medical appointment himself, or will it be assigned to him? I know the visa appointments are assigned. Also, I keep on reading about package 3 or 4, and I am a bit confused about what exactly that is.

I know what I am supposed to send my fiance for his visa appointment (copy of 129-F package, affidavit of support, proof of relationship, etc.), but if someone could just tell me what exactly I am supposed to do (and my fiance) once I receive the much anticipated NOA2, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you all

Hi,

After you receive your NOA2, you don't have to call NVC, it's really not mandatory. People usually call to get their case number as soon as possible but you will get a mail with all those information anyway.

After a few days or a couple of weeks, your case move to the french consulate.

Most of your questions are answered here:

http://www.visajourn...rance&cty=Paris

After the french consulate has received your case, they will send him the package 4, wich include the list of the requested documentation/forms. When he has gathered all these documents, he's supposed to send back a form with a "certificate of readiness". Then they reply with the packet IV, which is basically the interview notification. That's when you plan the medical.

Your fiancé will have to make an appointment himself, it is not assigned. If he lives in the Paris area it's easy, he can book it any time, if not he should try to pick an appointment the day before the interview.

About the proofs of relationship, the french consulate is a very easy one, he should just have a couple in case. I don't think anyone has ever been asked any.

The interview usually comes down to 5 basic questions such as "Where did you meet? Where we you live? Any plans?"

Nothing to worry about really.
