Hello everyone. I'm new here and I need your help. I am the USC and my Fiance is going for the K-1 Visa. She did the Biometrics, the medical and I sent out the affidavit of support I-134. We've been waiting since May 25th to hear from the Cairo Embassy to schedule the interview. What should I do to speed things along. Should I contact them again and who would I contact. Or is there a way to schedule the visa interview online? Also is there a specific time frame for this process? What am I doing wrong because it is taking a long time. I would really appreciate your help in setting us on the correct path to get this accomplished. Thank you very much.

Welcome to VJ! :)

Your fiancee got her Police Clearance and Medical done and sent them along with the I-134 and all the other documents requested, right? When did she receive packet 3 from the embassy and when did she send it back? Usually Packet 4 (the interview letter packet) arrives within 4 weeks from the date the beneficiary sends Packet 3 back.

The embassy in Cairo has been taking a little longer more than usual to schedule interview because of the current political circumstances in Egypt. As long as you are still in the 4-weeks-after-sending-packet3-back time frame, you should be ok. I would e-mail the consular/IV sections of the embassy (the embassy in Cairo receives K1 inquiries on the IV section e-mail), and ask if they received your fiancee's packet 3 and when she should expect an interview date.

Good luck!

You can not do anything: You must wait for emabassy to put together your packet and find a date for the interview: Depending on embassy it can be a few months to send the packet out: Just make sure they have the right address in Egypt:

well when was the sace closed by NVC ? for CR1 which is spouse of US citzen it takes up to 5-6 month so i assume it will either be the same for fiance or maybe longer , its been like this since they had to close down for 2 month in feb and march so just stay tight and pray , and u can try and email the emabssy and ask for expedite but i doubt that they will consider it for fiance visa but u can try , sorry but we all in the same situation here.

They are applying for K-1, so the process you mentioned doesn't apply.
