Hello again all,

So I'm SO happy that I got my interview booked!! it only took 1 day for the consulate to get back to me so I was super excited about that. It seems as if these things happen when I least expect it.

So I was reading through my checklist they gave me for the day of my interview and there was a small personal note on there saying the pre-paid postage bag I'd sent them was too small, and just to bring one in on the day. I thought that was pretty cool, not just an automated email.

Oh yeah so the one thing thats kinda got me thinking is how do you actually PAY the consulate? here is the link;

http://canberra.usembassy.gov/iv-fees.html

It says;

K visa applicants pay an application fee (also known as the Machine Readable Visa Fee) like any other nonimmigrant visa applicant. The current application fee for the K visa is USD $350.00. (The AUD equivalent is $350.00).

This fee can only be paid at an Australia Post outlet. Bring the original receipt for this payment to your interview. Only the original receipt may be submitted to the Consulate.

Ok easy enough, $350, is that all? seems a little cheap, does anyone know if there is another visa fee that hit you with once at the consulate? ALSO how the heck to do I pay for this at the post office? I can just see the lady at the post office looking at me like im from another planet when I ask "oh hey, I want to pay for a k-1 visa please" So yeah, anyone with any information on that would make my brain stop hurting :)

Thanks guys :)

As I said yeah pay at the post office and the lady at the Aussie post will have to look it up lol as they know the immigration fees have to be paid there. $350 cheap (shoot) I paid $420 and no darl that's all you pay on the day when you go for interview. You keep that little receipt and take with you or there is a post office on ground floor of MLC building you can do before interview if you want. I chose to get mine before so I was more settled on the day. What size bag did you end up sending?

Divorced !st November 2012.
