More documents needed after interview

Hi,

My fiance had his interview on the 12th, and everything was fine, except we needed a copy of my birth certificate, the interviewer said if we send it the next day it should take about two weeks for him to get his visa(reading how slow they are, I really can't believe that no matter how much I want to) the NY address received my birth certificate last Thursday. Any ideas for how long it should take for his visa to be at least approved? Has anyone been in this situation where they had to send in something after the interview, how long did it take?

Thanks.
