I am a canadian , i applied for a a e2 visa and have appointment in vancouver with the consulate. On the forms they asked if i have ever been convited or arressted i answered no.11 years ago i was given a summans to apear in court for possession of 3.5 grams OF CANABIS .what i rememberd was haveing to pay 150 dollars to the victims assestince unit and my charge would be dropped. I was not arrested or finger printed when this happenend so believed i had no record.I pulled a police clearence and it came back with a summary conviction for canabis and i was shocked . What i want to no is how can i tell the consulate the truth with out him/her thinking i lyed because i know it will come up.I tryed to call the consulate but you can not talk to anybody but reception and they will give no advice .Should i apply for a waiver witch i know will take a long time but it might show him i am not trying to hide anything ,just a mastake <i no it sounds like bull s!!! but true>.Should i just cancel ,forget about my 4000 dollars and just know i will not be able to travel our work in the usa again. It was the first and only time i have ever had any dealings with the police.

Thanks

Before the interview begins, I would show them the police report and explain the situation.

You're going to have to be very polite and cordial.

Good luck

I will go with CW let the CO know about it before the interview, if you wait until CO starts asking about it then they assume you are trying to conceal info, when you disclose it beforehand lot of the times they will let it go or would understand it was hinest mistake.
