At interview they want a copy of the sponsors latest tax return

Since I the petitioner did the I-864 my wife doesn't need a copy of my tax returns.. I did the AOS no sponsor was required

Or does she still need copy because of me??

Did you provide copies of your tax returns or transcripts? The I-864 needs to have some supporting documents whether it is just from the petitioner or there is a co-sponsor involved. In this case I would suspect they are using the words petitioner and sponsor interchangebly.

It just said Sponsor so I think we ok since we didn't have one

* IF a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) AND provided the NVC with proof of

an IRS Federal Income Tax Extension in lieu of a Federal Income Tax Return, the

applicant must bring the sponsor's most recent Federal Income Tax Return to the visa

interview.

* Failure to present all necessary documents to the Consular Officer will result in the

applicant's immigrant visa being refused at the initial interview.

Hmm I sent NVC AOS and all the paper work

I had to send IRS the other for ITN number

All I have left is w-2's

Get a transcript from the IRS. It can be faxed in a few hours. Or comes in the regular mail in a couple of weeks. Use the number in my signature below.

I requested my tax transcripts last Monday and received them in the mail on Saturday. I requested 3 years just in case they asked for them. But according to what I read I should only need the most recent one. Call the number and request them to be sent to save yourself some hassles later on interview day!!!

i already ordered, I also scanned my wife a copy of my 1040 tax return, I scanned a copy of my return from the ITN application. What I don't understand is the Embassy hasd this information already with my AOS packet.. I sent like 4 years of transcripts..

My interview letter said the same thing. IF sponsor filed for an extension then they still need the recent federal income tax return at the time of interview. You are the sponsor, you have sent irs transcript or federal income tax return for 2010 then you are ok. It was a reminder.

Yes I think that they are just telling you what all must be present at the interview. I personally am going to take extra copies of everything just to avoid hassles at the interview. I would hate for something to have become separated from my petition and not make it to the consulate. Our pictures have already gotten lost at CSC so Im not taking any chances lol
