Hi, everyone!

At the beginning- my name is Ola and I'm a Polish girl that lives in Ireland. I'm very glad that I found this forum. :) Also, I'm very sorry in advace for my mistakes in English. I'm still learning.

I'm about to visit the two of my friends in the U.S., California essentially. My fiance is going there with me. Unfortunately I still don't know about one particular thing and that has been bugging me for quite some time now. I know that we both need to apply for a Visa, but how about the interview? Is it usually scheduled the same day for couples or is it always arranged separately, no matter if you're married or have a boyfriend/fiance?

The thing is that I am the one who covers all the trip expenses. Which means that my bank statement will be shown to the interviewer and I own all the proofs of our ties in Ireland and Poland (everything prepared in a folder).

Any information will be much appreciated. :)

Is your fiance a US Citizen? If not, you each apply for a tourist visa individually. The interview would be individual. I would think that you can schedule them for the same day/time. If you were married you could probably have the same interview.

Hi!

Thank you for the quick response!

No, my fiance is Polish, just as I am, he lives with me currently in Ireland. We just both want to visit our friends in California. Since it will be most likely individually, should I give him a copy of all my proofs so he can show them to the interviewer?

Just recently waiting for my L-1 interview in Warsaw, seen a couple interviewed together for B1 - to me it looks that even though you apply separately, you can schedule interview at the same time and go the there together - will make sense if you plan to travel together.

Dziękuję za post, Kzieliński :)

I heard that it's usually easier to get a Visa in Poland or Ireland. Less illegal immigrants, I suppose. I'm working in a Polish store and one of my cusomers, who actually owns a 10 year B-1 Visa, told me that the interviewer didn't even ask to show the proofs. Sounds weird, but it's true. I don't know if he just got lucky, but that's still a comforting fact, haha. I think that a good level of English is important too. Self-confidence and maturity also.

Good luck on your interview. :)

If you indicate on your forum you two are travling togeather, your interview would be scheduled togeather.

If the interview are scheduled on seprate days or time, then you will have to make copies of all your document and give him one set too so he cna produce that to CO.

It would not be very good or strong scenario for your fiance, if he does not have enough ties in his home country then he could run into issue for getting visa.

Just being engaged would not be good enough for the CO to grant him visa on your ties to the home country.
