I got assigned the immigrant visa interview date on Oct. 10. (Finally.... :) in Montreal. So excited!!) The question is i will have to get a visitor visa to Canada first , does anybody know how long it takes to get the canadian visa? The canadian consulate in Los Angeles says it takes 8 weeks ( :crying: ) i am so worried about if its true, i am not gonna make it on Oct. 10 :crying:

OK, I'll bite. What is your citizenship? Where do you live? Where are you right now?

If none of the above = 'Canada', how is it that you are having an immigrant visa interview there?

ahh, that is an interesting dilema!

According to the DeltaAirlines 'visa' site, you do need a visa.

National CHINA (PEOPLE'S REP.) (CN)

Residence U.S.A. (US) /Destination CANADA (CA) CANADA (CA)

Passport required; or

Permanent Resident/Resident Alien Card (Form I-551), provided

coming directly from:

- U.S.A.; or

- St. Pierre and Miquelon.

Visa not required if holding Permanent Resident/Resident Alien

Card (Form I-551).

As a K-3, you do not have a Resident Alien card (duh, that is what you are going to go get! :) ).

Contact the Canadian Embassy to see about getting a speedier visa?
