Thanks for all the support guys. Where can i find more info on what to do next now that my wife is here with me. i.e..Her social security and all other things.

Her green card should arrive in a month or so. Watch for the welcome letter which will have a receipt number on it allowing you to track production of the green card via the USCIS website. As far as her SSN goes, if she has not received it within 3 weeks go to the local social security office and apply in person.

Congrats, My bruv... I was only wondering Why it took 1yr and 3months to get CR-1 Visa coz I'm just starting and it's seems too long a time for me. I hope you are not offended by that question.

Nope not offended at all...just didn't understand your question, which I will be happy to answer. The reason it took so long was because of a couple of reasons:

#1 We did not file until June 2010 due to financial reasons. We were originally going to hire an attorney, but that was really expensive. We just decided to do it ourselves.

#2 When it came time to file the DS-230, my hubby had problems getting his birth certificate and the police certificate. This part took the longest time.

After going through this, I would advise everyone to start gathering the legal documents as soon as possible, like the birth certificate if you don't have it. Items like the police certificate, especially for Nigeria, may have an expiration date...so that has to wait.
