I think it's funny that you boiled this down to a political party issue....it seems that the trend for you may be that anything that is against your opinion = RWN.

So, if you don't like brussel sprouts, then is it a RWN vegetable?

I lolled at Jen's pwn btw. ;)

RWN's aren't a political party. They bring balance to the Force against all them Commies and Socialists that seem to be destroying this country, one teet at a time.

I'm a little unsure what is even meant by "RWN". What I can find is:

Acronym Definition

RWN Right Wing News (weblog)

RWN Rural Women's Network (Australia)

RWN Refugee Women's Network (advocacy group)

RWN Arens Field Airport (Winamac, Indiana, USA)

RWN Reconfigurable Wireless Network

RWN Rwanda Women Community Development Network

RWN Reinstall When Notified (US Navy)

RWN Running with Ninjas (blog)

RWN Rush With Nives (gaming group)

The only one that seems close is "Right Wing News", but the story lists Fox News AND ABC news. You surely cannot refer to ABC News as Right wing.

Ha ha. If that happened, you just tell them it is not the appropriate thing to do. But, I don't think that will happen. I breastfed my two children until they were two, and when they were younger, I even did it discreetly in public. My daughter for some reason never felt the inclination to start breastfeeding her brother. When you carry on a dialogue with your children about how life goes, they somehow pick it up. If they stray, you nip it in the bud. I just don't think it is such a big deal, that's all.

You breastfed them until they were two years old? The kid should have been on solids way before that with a cup of juice or milk or something...but two years old?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Not to speak for the poster you're responding to, but in cases like that the child is not exclusively breastfed once they can start solids. It's a mix. Breast milk is an excellent source of nutrients for children in addition to anything else they might need.

"Children learn by playing, and if they learn that the best way to feed a baby is by breastfeeding, it will be an easy, natural choice for them when they grow up. What could possibly be wrong about a child learning this from an early age?"

Seriously, why does a child need to learn about breastfeeding at all? They act as if this is some valuable learning experience that will somehow enhance the child and make them better prepared to deal with the situation later on in life.... Because the subject of breastfeeding is never going to come up again between the age of 5 and when you get pregnant I guess.

A girl could grow up in the woods raised by wolves and if she somehow became pregnant she would figure out how to breastfeed.

I am not sure what your experiences are with breastfeeding, but unfortunately, the truth is, what should be a very natural thing to do, doesn't come easy at all for lots of women who try to nurse. So yes, there is a lot to learn indeed.

I doubt though that this doll is offering this knowledge and I don't think it should do. Little girls do not need to know about how breastfeeding really works.

I do appreciate though that this doll offers an alternative to all the dolls that come with a bottle in the package.

If your living in a third world country with nothing more than a bowl of rice each day and dirty river water to drink...then ya I can see it.

Two isn't bad. Some women do it until the child is 4. La Leche.

Now your posting just to give your fingers exercise.

Not trying to the poster you were refering to but since I breastfed my son for almost 2 years as well, I think I can help you out.

Breastfeeding for x- months doesn't mean you breastfeed exclusively. I exclusively breastfed for the first 5 months and then started introducing solids, well, pureed foods. Since I was breastfeeding, I didn't introduce other liquids until later on, cows milk is not recommended until the child is at least one year old anyway.

Doctors actually recommend breastfeeding for 2-4 years..yepp, was new to me too!
