This question is for those who’s K-1 visas were approved in Manila. Our interview is on Aug 1st and for sure I want to be with her during the interview process. Less stressful for the both of us if we are together. I am trying to determine when I should schedule our return flight back to the US and wanted to know typically how long it took for everyone else to get their visa once it was approved. For business reasons I need to get back ASAP. I know the embassy says one to two weeks to receive it but was curious how long it took for everyone to get their visas. Thanks

my fiance is with me during my interview, before he flew to Manila we have already plane ticket to US. Just tell the Consul that if the visa is approved tell her/him that you want an immediate pick up for visa. tell them that you cant stay longer because of your work, the consul will give you the purple card, from my interview it took two days wait for me and then i have my visa in hand.The same as my friend too, she just have an immediate pick up in USEmbassy Manila

If your visa is approved, it could take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. In our case it took 20 days, or 12 working days (my delivery address was Metro Manila) but from what I've seen here the average is about 10-14 days. If you choose to pick up your passport from 2GO you could shave off a day or two.

I'm glad you and your friend were able to get your visas quickly.

It has been reported more than once here on VJ that the Embassy stopped their practice of allowing K-1 visa pickup at the Embassy. I wonder why the Embassy allows some people to pick up their visas at the Embassy and they don't allow other people to do the same.

It took about 10 working days for me

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Oh yea! It was a great xmas knowing I was approved! Also a little bittersweet coz I wasn't sure if I could go back to Manila for the next holiday and sure enough I can't go home this year :(

My Journey:

Thanks for you input! Being that I am a key witness in a company related law suite that is coming up very soon the company and the company attorneys are also writing letters on their letterheads asking to expedite the visa. Don’t know if it will help but I’m sure it can’t hurt.
